About Us

Whether you're seeking support, looking to give back or simply exploring, we're so glad you're here. Welcome to Collective for Hope.

Who We Are

At Collective for Hope, we believe no one should have to walk through grief alone. We are a nonprofit organization offering free, compassionate grief support to children, adults and families of all ages and backgrounds. Through peer-based support groups, remembrance events and community education, we create safe spaces where people feel seen, heard and supported as they navigate loss in its many forms.

With roots dating back to the 1990s, we’ve grown from Ted E. Bear Hollow to Grief’s Journey, and finally Collective for Hope, expanding to meet diverse needs while staying grounded in our mission: to bring healing and hope to those who need it most.

Our Mission

Cultivating a grief-affirming community through companionship and understanding so every person feels valued and embraced as they navigate loss.

Our Vision

A world where grief is normalized through empathy, love and hope.

Our Values

Connection

We believe in creating a unified community of and for people who have experienced a profound loss. Our team creates a space of fellowship and support for individuals and families who are navigating the depths of sorrow. By opening our doors and expanding our reach, we ensure that grief support groups, resources and education are available to everyone.

Understanding

We believe everyone experiencing grief has a sacred story that broadens our capacity for compassion. Every bereaved person is seen, heard and embraced here. By sharing our lived experience with loss and grief, our team encourages thoughtfulness with each other. Acknowledging that grief is a normal response to loss is how we eliminate stigma and create a more compassionate world.

Belonging

We believe there should be no barriers to finding support while going through the tremendous loss of a significant person. Our team welcomes all people experiencing grief to share stories and memories that ease the journey to a new sense of self. We understand that grief happens everywhere and in every micro-community, therefore, we must approach the healing process with respect for all.

Hope

We believe in having soft eyes and hearts as our friends and families journey through their grief. Our team nurtures support programs and educational opportunities that ease the weight of sorrow. Each person’s experience with loss is unique, and we honor them with the space and support they need to transform their heartache into healing and hope.

Excellence

We believe in fostering trust with our clients and partners through ethical practices that prioritize the well-being of our community. Our team of experts in loss support is wholly invested in addressing the many life changes that leave voids in people’s lives. We are driven to create safe spaces through in-house programming and community outreach, so every person feels supported in their grief.
