OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha city leaders are supporting Collective for Hope as it breaks ground on a new facility. Once completed it will be Omaha's first and only center dedicated to handling grief. The goal is to help the community and local organizations better understand the impact of grief on both an individual and the community.

Collective for Hope offers free support for teens, adults, and children.

"When I heard the news, I was well, actually, I was scared. I was worried what would happen in the future until I met the collective for this group. I, I knew something good will come out of this. It's something I did. I learned many things on how to deal with grief," said Grayson Valdez.

Organizers said the vision is that no one has to grieve alone.
